Funding & Partners
A significant portion of Exchange is being delivered with a private sector partner. In June 2019, Curtin entered into a 35 year partnership with a private sector consortium, led by InfraRed Capital Partners, to design, finance, construct and operate the two new student accommodation buildings and the hotel and residential apartments.
The new developments will be operated in partnership with St Catherine’s College, UniLodge Australia and Nesuto, with Programmed Facility Management also providing asset management services.
The Greater Curtin Master Plan
Curtin has embarked on a transformation agenda, which includes the development of the Perth campus into a collaborative innovation precinct that cultivates a vibrant social, professional and commercial urban community. This vision is articulated in the Greater Curtin Master Plan.
The Master Plan embraces all of the things that make great cities around the world – a diverse population, various accommodation options, ease of transit, a 365 day sustainable economy, art and culture, abundant green spaces and retail, dining and recreation options – mixed with research, teaching and learning and aligned industry partners.
In achieving this vision, the strategic objectives are to:
- Enhance the student experience and the University’s research and innovation capability
- Attract business and industry partners to campus to further integrate research and learning
- Position Curtin and Perth as a core component of a robust innovation ecosystem
Exchange is the first precinct to be delivered in response to the Greater Curtin Master Plan – it is a catalyst for the physical transformation that represents a significant change to how Curtin has traditionally functioned.
